BRONCO PARENT VOLUNTEER POLICY

Volunteer Philosophy:

Roseville Jr Sports is a fully volunteer-run organization.

Our dedicated board members work year-round to prepare for each season — many of them also serve as General Managers and Coaches. Our Football and Cheer coaches invest countless hours before, during, and after the season to ensure the success of our athletes and teams.

It takes a village to make game day happen. Approximately 50 parent volunteers are needed to run a single home game, and 12 more for each away game.

To sustain the quality and spirit of our program, parent and guardian participation is not just encouraged — it's essential. Volunteering is a required part of the Roseville Jr Sports community.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

Volunteer Commitment Deposit – Due at July Paperwork Turn-In

  • Each family is required to submit a $200 volunteer commitment deposit at the time of paperwork submission in July.
  • For the 2025 season, we will accept cashier’s checks, cash, personal checks or credit/debit card payments (a processing fee applies for card transactions). If a personal check is bounced there will be a fee of $15 as well as your athlete will be ineligible to register for the upcoming season.
  • All deposits will be securely held and returned at the end of the season, once volunteer hours have been completed.

Volunteer Shift Expectations:

  • Each family is required to complete two (2) volunteer shifts, each approximately 2 hours (one full game duration).
  • During years when Roseville Broncos host OMYFA Playoffs or Cheer Off events (2026–2031), an additional post-season shift will be required per family.

Shift Guidelines & Responsibility:

  • The main contact listed in the registration system (the person who registered the athlete) is responsible for ensuring that all required volunteer shifts are completed.
  • Shifts may be completed by any family member or friend who is 18 years or older
  • Volunteers must arrive on time. Arriving more than 15 minutes late or leaving early will result in the shift being marked as incomplete
  • If you are running late or have an emergency, please contact the Volunteer Coordinators, Ashley J. or Becca A., as soon as possible.

Coach Exemption:

  • Coaches are exempt from the volunteer deposit and are considered to have fulfilled the volunteer requirement for the season.

Procedures for Incomplete Volunteer Requirements:

Our Volunteer Coordinators, Ashley J. and Becca A., are responsible for tracking the completion of all volunteer shifts throughout the season.

  • At the end of the regular season, any family that has not fulfilled their volunteer commitment will forfeit their $200 deposit, which will then be cashed.
  • If a volunteer deposit check is returned or not honored for any reason, the athlete will be ineligible to participate in the next scheduled game or event, including the end-of-season banquet. Additionally, the athlete will lose returning player status for the following season.
  • Returning player status is only granted to athletes whose families have completed all volunteer requirements and remain in good standing at the end of the season.
  • For families who received a scholarship, failure to meet the volunteer requirement will result in ineligibility for a scholarship in the following season.
